Miriam Abrams
Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
Miriam's interest in health and wellness began at the ripe old age of twelve. As is often the case, her own struggles led to a passionate view of health as our greatest asset. Her motivation is found in the belief that if we can support our bodies in doing what they were made to do, our bodies will support us in living our most fulfilled lives.
After taking a Yoga Teacher Training in the jungles of Costa Rica in 2015 and receiving a certificate in CSNN's Introduction to Holistic Nutrition in 2020, Miriam enrolled in the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program with the NTA - Nutritional Therapy Association - and graduated in September of 2024.
During this comprehensive course Miriam learned how to approach health from a deeply foundational perspective. She looks at stress, digestion, blood sugar regulation, diet, and sleep, and creates an individualized protocol to support her clients' health goals. She also appreciates the enormous impact the nervous system has on whole body wellness and works with this ever in mind.
Miriam believes that our bodies know how to heal, and encourages clients to see health as a relationship rather than a destination. "Symptoms" are simply the language our body speaks. A huge piece of the puzzle is learning this language so we can meet our bodies wherever they're at and support them in the most impactful way. By offering this point of view, Miriam hopes to empower her clients to take their health back into their own hands and thrive.
Born in Vancouver, but raised in qathet, Powell River from nine years old, Miriam hails as an honourary local. She loves spending her free time with family and friends, out in nature - especially by the ocean or in the forest - practicing yoga, reading, dancing, singing, cuddling her senior dog, and furthering her education.
