Brigitte Villeneuve, RMT / Owner

Brigitte started her educational path in 2006 at West Coast College of Massage Therapy where she studied Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Reflexology and Hot Stone Massage. This led her to Vancouver College of Massage Therapy where she continued her studies and graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2010.

In 2014 she travelled to Guatemala and received her certification as a Yoga Teacher. This knowledge trickles down into her treatment and patient care. She has taken many classes in Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Pain Science, and she is certified as a Trauma Informed Practitioner.

What you can expect from Brigitte during a treatment is a caring and knowledgeable approach. She will customize her treatment to fit your needs, and she assures an environment that feels comfortable and safe. She believes in empowering her patients by giving them the tools to care for themselves outside of her treatment room. She can give you a deep treatment, but you will leave feeling relaxed. She likes to incorporate hot and cold stones into her treatment, stretching and trigger point therapy. She is fascinated by the mind/body connection and how it pertains to physical dysfunction and wellbeing.

Common conditions that she treats include neck, shoulder, hip and lower back pain/dysfunction. Her treatment has been effective for headache relief, jaw pain and plantar fasciitis as well. She loves working with runners and the overuse injuries that sometimes occur. Regular maintenance and prevention are crucial to maintaining a happy and healthy body. She is attuned to helping people with anxiety and depression as massage therapy is soothing to an overactive nervous system. She also loves working with pregnant bodies during any trimester.

Brigitte hails from the East Coast, and is an Acadian at heart. Her friendly and positive attitude is as infectious as her laugh. She and her husband, Dustin, have a wonderful toddler and they bask in the joy of being parents everyday. In her spare time, she geeks out on yoga, bikes around town, tends to her garden and plays with her dog, Cedar.
